You are not bottlenecked. Don't downgrade. What driver are you using?

MSI's are good. I recommend installing the latest beta (13.2 beta 7).

What's the solution to this problem, flashing bios or RMA?
I had 100% fan speed problem with msi hd 7950 tf3, i tried lot of things, flashing to non-boost bios worked, but card could not overclock.

Creating custom msi ab profile didnt help, card would still ramp up to 100% after 2-3 minutes.

My specs: i5-2500k, Asus P8Z68-V LX Mobo, 8GB Ram, PowerColor 7870 MYST Tahiti LE, Windows 7-64bit.

I'm running 13.1 Catalyst Drivers.

I recently bought a PowerColor HD 7870 MYST Edition and something I've just recently noticed after buying this card a few weeks ago was that it's core clock speeds don't match what's set by the manufacturer. When ingame, the core clock always stays at 925Mhz(despite it being set at 975MHz in MSI Afterburner). To confirm this, I tried overclocking to 1000 MHz, but when ingame, it stays at this speed for about a second, then reverts back to 925MHz.

Example of this(ignore the larger dips in clockspeed, that's me alt tabing out of the game to take a screenshot.)

As you can see as highlighted by the red circle, the clock speed stays for about a second then goes back to 925MHz.

My afterburner settings.

OSD in Tomb Raider(although it happens in every 3D app)

Is this a common problem and I'm just missing something? I clicked the checkbox in CCC for "enable Graphics OverDrive". Maybe it's a motherboard problem?

It's a shame, because I'd really like to overclock this card to get better performance.

I have just had the same issue running unigine valley 1.0 shows as gpu clock as 1100ghz but in gpu-z & ccc still shows stuck at 925mhz

Uhhh,

I have been looking into getting a 7850 2GB card. I found this thread... should it discourage me from my decision?
