I fail to see the problem. The article is implying that AMD is trying to do something sneaky with the product data. But all they're doing is saying what information is allowed to be released before the product launch, and what is not allowed to be released. I don't see anything new or different about this than any other product launch...

AMD is giving sites a chance to get some added hits by allowing them to post some basic details and results a month before the full NDA is lifted - you'd honestly think all tech sites would appreciate that...
If I was AMD's PR manager, I just wouldn't provide them any further early access to products for reviews. If they are whinging about this, then they honestly do not deserve to have early access to products.

Seems like this Tech Report editor/reviewer is just trying to stir up trouble.

I think AMD needs to deal with the likes of techreport, especially when AMD have done no wrong. personally, i believe techreport is biased towards intel as they have done previews for intel before in much restricted circumstances, or just from reading most of the "previews" and reviews on their site. clearly this is an attempt by techreport to give AMD a bad name for fixing benches when it wasn't the case... Good job intel and techreport

FFS - Grow some n*ts AMD or bring some people in who do....now make it happen

I just hope people realize that no matter the CPU performance of Trinity APUs it not a direct translation over ot the FX line of Piledrivers CPUs. I forgot where I read it but they're basically gimped piledriver cores used on Trinity.

I guess gimped is a bit harsh but heres the "Preview":
The A10 series does not feature a dedicated L3 cache as the FX processors do.
http://www.pcper.com/reviews/Processors/AMD-A10-5800K-Performance-Preview-Trinity-Desktop

Here's what this review site had to say about the preview, "AMD has graciously allowed us the chance to give readers a small glimpse at the performance of the upcoming A series APUs based on the Trinity processor." instead of being whiny *****es like TechReport.

Put me in the crowd that doesn't see a problem with the way AMD is handling this.

They aren't lying or not allowing specific benchmarks to be done. It reads to me like if you want to publish an early preview, you need to focus on the parts they want you to focus on.
