Looking for custom length power cables

post #1 of 3

As the title says, I'm looking for custom length power cables. Just got an appartment, and I HATE too long power cables. And since all my equipment has fixed positions, I might aswell get custom length power cables.

But, I don't know how to look for them on eBay... I don't know the keywords. I'm looking for power cords with euro plugs:

Schuko_plug_and_socket.png

Preferably with 90° angles at the plugs.

I will be needing the following lengths:

PS3 = 90° plug -> 50cm -> PC plug
TV = 90° plug -> 25cm -> PC plug
Receiver = 90° plug -> 25cm -> non-removable from receiver

The remaining 2 devices are my modem and router. These have bulky adapter, is there a smaller solution for this

Or, I could just shorten them myself. Which isn't so much of a problem, but, the plugs are moulded... They can be put made/together, but can't be takan apart, for a neat finish, can they? And I don't like using heat shrinks as cable replacements etc.

Anyone any idea's?

You can use that guide (modified a little). Just get longer cables than needed then cut them to size. It's a little more tedious but doable.

I'll keep looking for custom lengths for you though. thumb.gif

Appreciated, but I already know exactly how to shorten cables and stuff. All I want is either pre-made lenghted cables or 90° plugs. All my current plugs are "180°", so the cables them selves have to bend before going down. That uses quite a bit of space between the wall and the TV cabinet. I'll upload some pics later.
