To me it seems like the past few years they have been too worried about getting more and more non-MMO players into the game, which I think hurt the game over all. I think that if they can get back to their old way of doing things, Titan will be an awesome MMO.

i honestly feel that (as someone who played since beta until the start of the dragon soul percentage nerfs) blizzard is purposely dumbing the living crap out of WoW. they are going to try to keep ~5million "casuals" playing WoW as it gets more cartoony and inane, while funneling the hardcore players into Titan. My dream is for Titan to have well-tested HARD PvE content (that they never nerf or touch, outside of bugfixes) and balenced PvP (since PvP in WoW has always been pretty bad, and it wouldn't be worth it to overhaul all the classes), and that's basically it. no endless grinding, no monotonous profession leveling, etc. just PvE and PvP, leaving the other stuff for WoW 9: The emerald panda crusade.

as much as i would love to be able to play that, it would never work : /.

i'm guessing they are going to get away from their IP's with Titan, and go for a different look.

Game won't be released until the year 2187 wherein a cyborg Mike Morheim continues to play the guitar at future Blizzcons and Blizzard DRM now requires all consumers to input the future equivalent of your social security number just to play. The game will retail for $60k space bucks.

When was the last decade Blizzard invented a new IP? What reason do we have to believe they can make a new one well when the vast majority of the company is comprised of completely different employees?
As another poster also mentioned, I'm not buying another Blizzard product that uses their "stylized" (read: cartoony) graphics style.

EVE, if you like sandbox games. I think more sandbox games with player-driven content would refresh the genre quite nicely. A player-driven dynamic world, where "guilds" or "alliances" (or whatever you want to call a group of players) have a direct effect on the game world is alot more immersive (IMO), as you become almost a part of the game world. Also, after a while any raid gets repetitive.

It was stated years ago that Titan would be a new IP, not Warcraft, Diablo, or Starcraft universe.

I actually tried EvE a few years back, didnt really get into it. Nice idea but spaceship games arent really my thing - if it was something like that (one HUGE world) and everything but with player characters going through various worlds and such - kinda a mix between wow, Guild Wars 2, Rift, ToR and maybe even Star Trek then think it would be stellar -

World Of Warcraft - The Lore, though barely touched most of it, the sheer amount was great
Guild Wars 2 - Character Creation, with own story lines and such is great, graphics as well
Rift - Character Talent sets (they were SO customizable) as well as Raids (found them more fun then wow raids)
ToR - That space feel, different planets and such
Star Trek - Sapceship fights mostly but proper ones, i havent played it but heard they had it

A mix of PvE from Guild Wars 2, WoW and Rift would be great. They are all great in there own way and would be amazing together. A mix of Rift and Guild Wars 2 PvP would be great as well i think Rift and Guild Wars 2 have the better PvP aspects that it requires SKILL for the most part to win rather then WoW where its the right Class/race combos that win you matches.

Think a Mix of Guild Wars 2 Dynamic Events and Dungeons (story/explore) and Rift Raids would make a GREAT raid set up - Huge areas, BIG bosses and loads of dynamic events that could change each time you play (bar the main set of bosses) could get mini bosses, different mobs, ect weach play through would make it ALOT more fun and unpredictable - Image fighting the Last boss and suddenly a Dynamic Event starts DURING the fight - now you got the boss AND the event to worry about

That game was called Star Wars Galaxies, but was killed by SOE. Sandbox game with character avatars (that seems to bug a lot of people, I personally don't see why), player made items used in the game (it really bugs me that in most MMOs the crafting systems are pretty much useless late-game) including gear, consumables, aesthetic gear, ships, player housing and towns, space combat and travel (not a roller coaster ride like ToR), open ended character development, huge worlds... I don't know why nobody makes another game like this. This is a game from 2003...

As a person that played from WoW-Cata, I quit because it got boring and was sick of paying the money. IMHO, for Blizz to be successful with Titan, they have GOT to drop the subscription fee, which HIGHLY isn't likely. Also, I believe the biggest problem Blizzard has is that it takes them SOOOO long to develop and release a game. What I mean by this is that Titan is already been in the works since 2006. That means even though the game hasn't been released, it's already well outdated. By the time they release it (2014/2015) the game will already be 8-9 years old. It would be nice to think they would keep upgrading the content, art, graphics, etc. etc. but from looking back at WoW over the years, you can clearly tell it's not going to happen.

I also completely agree with Darkling5499. TBC was the last expansion that was actually fun and still felt like WoW. During Wrath, I got heavily involved in raiding and spent a LOT of time doing it. Blizzard is going to have an insanely hard time getting people back into the game after not playing for a few years. Currently, it takes WAY too long to level up and get the end-game content IMO. In Titan, I think they would be smart to go to a lower level cap, and make the whole game difficult. Quests, raids, and implement teamwork. They should focus highly on end-game raiding content and pvp.

Another point I think Blizzard is failing to understand is that today, in the realm of COD, BF3, and other shooters, games are "instant on" and "instant off." The younger generation doesn't, and won't, invest the countless hours that WoW requires. They want to start the game, play the content, and be done with it. Besides those "exceptional" players who can level their characters very quickly, if a person starts at level 1 and does quests/content, it's going to take them a LONG time to get to the end-game. That IMO, draws a LOT of people away from the game. Most adults just don't have the time to invest, nor do they want to.

Anyway, it will be interesting to see what they have been working on, but I just can't see it taking off unless it's something drastically different.
