He seems to be speaking with information he clearly doesn't even have a clue about. Early early prototypes of Titan started surfacing with a 3man team in LATE 2006. There wasnt even a "team" (at blizzard there are large teams that stick together and are moved around from project to project, and then there are "residents" who work on a project until they are either moved or leave the company, sometimes they work on the same project for years without waiver) on Titan until 2008. So for you to say that it was in "development" since 2006 is B.S. to say the least. Please do not spread rumors/information that is not true
This is coming from someone.... Close to Blizzard. As for the game being almost 8-9yrs old by release, is also B.S. as, full scale development didn't start until late 2008, and then didn't receive full attention of a team until 2009, when Blizzard starting to expand with a newer campus across the street from the HQ. A full time team of just under 100 people joined the small crew who were prototyping, concepting, blocking out, designing, etc, already, to fill out the main production crew on the new project. As for Blizzard changing there ways... Why would someone fix something that isnt broke? (unless you are building a computer of course... Fix it till it IS broken) If the subscription plan is working, they still have 10m subs on WoW alone, and they have people coming back on a regular basis, to a game that was released 7yrs ago... I mean, think about it. They have destroyed all operating costs, development costs, paid off all their loans, are expanding, constantly hiring and moving through staff, and can hold one of the largest game conferences in the world every year, dedicated to strictly just their 3 current IPs.... ALL mainly from the revenue received from WoW. They wouldn't have been able to do anything this extravagant without the immense income/revenue generated. I personally think they should stay on subscriptions until they reach 2m subscribers, as they would still be making quite a bit of money until then, at 2m theyd be getting close to operating costs of the game.
