can i overclock my laptop i52430m

hey,

i was just wondering to see if i can overclock my I5 2430M @2.40GHZ. Please do not mention heating issues i will be monitoring the temperature constantly. If i can what software do i use i tried setfsb and it won't work frown.gif.

You have to at least tell us your laptop model, but as a general rule of thumb, the answer is no. Unless your manufacturer has enabled it in BIOS or you have a custom BIOS, you can't.

I know for the alienware laptop I have that there was a certain oc limit (very small) and the only was to get past it was physically modding the PLL chip. You soldered one of the pins on the chip to a ground wire and that increased the FSB speed. I'm not sure if thats even plausible on newer gen intel cpu since they can't really go past100mhz since graphics clock is linked to it

Well, I have the same CPU on my N55SF. And I would love to overclock it too. Can you help me in some way? Or should I forget it cuz of the risk. Yeah you mentioned the GPU so just to be sure it is GT555M. Thx for the replies.
