Hi guys,

About to get the Asus Maximus V Formula with a 3770K
However I am in doubt regarding RAM.

Can I use RAM which is not found in the ASUS vendor list: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1155/MAXIMUS-V_FORMULA/Maximus_V_Formula-memory-QVL.pdf

...and the ASUS Maximus V Formula is not found on the Corsair product fcompability finder: http://www.corsair.com/learn_n_explore/

I have found the below sets which i can get at a reasonable price locally.

CORSAIR DOMINATOR GT 16GB (4 x 4GB) CAS9 2133mhz
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233230

CORSAIR Dominator Platinum 16GB (4 x 4GB) CAS9 1866mhz
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233305&Tpk=CMD16GX3M4A1866C9

Will either work with the Asus Maximus V Formula?

I cant see why they shouldnt, you might have to go to bios to make sure the settings on them are correct if you get them, but I dont think it would be a problem. You might want to consider only getting 2 Dimms like a 2x8GB instead, people seems to say that it increases the OC potential of the CPU.

you shouldn't have a problem with any of the sets you listed above ,both have Samsung ICs i believe and both are quality RAM

Thanks guys! thumb.gif

Which ones would you choose?

I am not going for a massive overclock.
Thinking the GT's might be the better option? (higher of the shelf speed - and CAS 9 like the Platinums)
