I bought one and took it back, didn't like it.
I've noticed the decent mobo's are around the 200 price

Not good. Two reasons: ECS (which generally does not overclock well at all) and the 945 chipset (I've not seen any results of overclocking an Core 2 Duo with that chipset). It's wise to save up for a Gigabyte S3, although that one costs $115. Otherwise, you're likely stuck with stock.

Terry: you can go a bit cheaper than that, like the Gigabyte I mentioned. However, that's the minimum I would get.

i got one question on the gigabyte GA-965P-S3 motherboard it recommends memory timings that are 5-5-5-15 but the memory i got has timings that are 4-4-4-12 will it work with the motherboard?

Yeah it will work. That comment is made more about the P965 chipset, but I've never seen users having trouble with that RAM and the P965 chipset.

Some savings:
