Mobo not recognising onboard video nor PCI card

Thread Starter
Hello there,
Yesterday my new components came (CPU, RAM and mobo), so i used my current GPU, PSU and HDD and moved that mobo, CPU and ram to another case (with a PSU, HDD and rewriter i already had).

On my second PC (the old one not using the new parts i just received) my monitor will not pick up the input from either the onboard video or an old PCI card I have lying around. It worked perfectly before with my PCIE card (a day ago) so i'm curious to know if you think it's worth me buying a cheapo PCIE GPU? My PSU can take 1 PCIE slot.

I've never had a need to use the onboard video before nor a PCI card, since they are pretty outdated these days.

I've already tried 2 monitors, swapped another PSU in, swapped another DVD rewriter in and tried about 4 other PCI GPUs.
The motherboard in question is an ASUS P5KPL-AM being used in conjunction with a Q6600 (GO) and old arctic freezer pro 7 (rev 1)

Bottom line: Worth buying a PCIE card? Would it work do you think?
