HDMI to DVI D to Achieva Shimian

Hello all,

I've been contemplating buying one of the Korean IPS monitors (the Shimian to be percise) and I've heard that because that there is only one DVI D port people have not been able to connect things such as laptops or game consoles. However, I stumbled upon this cable, http://www.amazon.com/Cables-Unlimited-PCM-2296-06-HDMI-Cable/dp/B0007MWE1E/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1348947852&sr=1-1&keywords=hdmi+to+dvi+d and I wanted to know if this would work. Any insight at all would be helpful, thanks!

I wouldn't count on it. Most likely, it won't work. Best case is that you might get it working, but you'd need to mess around with driver hacks and overclocking your hardware (in particular, your monitor and your HDMI output port).
