Problem with new build

Thread Starter
I am not sure if this thread belongs here, but I just finished my new build and installed windows 7 on it. When I put in the motherboard DVD that lets me install drivers and utilties, i choose install all, then after about 10seconds it goes to a black screen saying Generate Serial ATA Driver diskette? [Y/N]
When I type in Y it reboots it, when I type in N it tells me to click a key to reboot, I don't know what to do at all. All help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I think you need to go into your BIOS and check to see what your SATA is set to. It maybe set to IDE, if it is change it to the other option. Off the top of my head I forget what the other option is. I would check but i'm downloading a game right now.

It was on AHCI first when I tried it first and it did the same thing, so I changed it to IDE, the only option left is RAID, should I try that?

What kind of motherboard do you have?

This is a problem that is common with AsRock boards. Go into BIOS and change controller back to non-raid mode. See mobo manual or Q2 here for instructions.
