The mb boots fast, as long as you don't have that many devices hook up to it e.g. wd my book, thumbdrive thumb.gif Glad they fixed the issues with the UP5. If I had only known that it was on sale at canada computers. I would've snagged one instead of this UP4. VRM on these mb runs just warm, even at 1.5v+ tongue.gif

Here's what i'd like them to fix with these 2 mb with the next bios update....
- Maximum cpu oc voltage usage...(requires too much vcore to run same oc compared to asus) wall at 4700mhz with aircooling) optimize power delivery at a given frequency.
- Maximum mem oc fine tuning and enhancements (maybe put as many ram profiles as possible e.g samsung, hynix, etc) hard to push ram after 2133mhz
- Improve bios oc recovery

Here's what they fixed with F3s bios...Bclk oc'ing now works. board no longer loses LAN above 100.01mhz thumb.gif These mb definitely have some potential if all the issues are fixed and improved. I hope they don't burn my setup on the next bios release hehe biggrin.gif

I can't get 4.7Ghz stable since it requires 1.5v+ but i will try a different approach (bclk oc'ing) 4.6Ghz as a daily driver good ti'll ive-e thumb.gif

Well, I take back what I said about no cold boot issues and 4.4GHz working.

I can stress test the system for days on end at 4.4Ghz, but it randomly BSOD at idle, and nothing I see to change resolves this issue while maintaining load stability.

Also, if the board cools down too much, it won't make it to windows at 4.4GHz. My ambients were around 37C while I was stress testing, but after shutting the system down and opened up my room for a few hours (knocking ambients to about 25C), the system would barely post.

I'm back to 4.3GHz right now, which runs fine, cold, hot, load and idle, at much lower voltages than 4.4GHz.

Definitely something strange going on at 4.4GHz+ on this board.

Bump IMC and VTT voltage a notch or two. Set your vcore manually not dvid. Disable all c-states and power saving mode.

I never use DVID, never use C-states, and never use power saving modes.

I've tried every remotely safe IMC/VTT combination, and anything even one notch higher or lower than what I was using results in 9C BSODs during stress testing. This CPU and board combo is extremely picky about the VCCSA and VTT voltages it will take with 8 DIMMs.

What are your ram settings? Try performance mode to normal and 2T. Bump your dram voltage and run hci memtest in windows if it passes 300% ram is good. After that run prime95 64bit with avx custom large in-place fft 8-1024k, have it cycle every 5min so it crashes faster. Grab memtweakit and post a screeny of your ram settings

It's stable in all stress tests that I've done, and I've done more stressful tests than what you suggest here.

Load stability is not the issue. It BSODs on idle (and no, I am not using excessive LLC), and locks up when entering Windows after a cold boot.

Load stability is not the issue. It BSODs on idle (and no, I am not using excessive LLC), and locks up when entering Windows after a cold boot.

You probably need more vcore. These gb mobo's require more voltage to stabilize compared to asus mb for the same frequency. Try a combination of vcore and pll voltage maybe. Use llc setting to high and let it sag. Just compensate with more vcore setting.

I've been using LLC Medium and High for most of my tests, and I'm perfectly OK with moderate vdroop.

Still get idle BSOD at 4.4Ghz with it sitting at 1.416 vcore and higher, even though full load is stable in everything I throw at it, even dipping down to 1.332v.

Since you're running samsung ram like myself but mine are hch9. Try 8-9-9-28 timings TRFC 250+ clocks since your running full slot. Give 9-10-10-28 a shot too....Running all slot populated is hard on the IMC.

Thanks stasio for the new bios..Will try in a few days thumb.gif
