I manually adjust everything possible.

RttNom and RttWr were key for me. I had to loosen them all one notch to stabilize much of anything past 1600.

T1 command rare turned out to be unstable however, so I'm back on T2. It's a marginal difference in performance.

Complete timing information:

F4v timings

F4v timings

Same timings as they appear in Memtweakit:

It's in my sig...eight sticks of Samsung MV-3V4G3D/US.

I'm still trying to find lowest stable settings but I think I'm pretty close now using:

LLC - Medium (CPU), 0% (IMC, as VCCSA isn't supposed to have a load line), and +15% (vDIMM and VTT, as VTT is)
vCore - 1.4v BIOS (1.38v idle, 1.32v load, can't really go any lower load)
VTT - 1.1v
PLL - 1.81v (I've experimented with much lower, but I do need close to stock for stability)
IMC - 1.1v
vDIMM - 1.525v (1.5v proved unstable in custom Blend)

Bumped LLC to high, vcore to 1.425v (giving me 1.344v max load), and VTT to 1.2v.

Testing 4.4GHz again, so far so good. I've cycled from load to idle a few times and haven't seen an idle BSOD or lock up yet.

Also, memory performance improved more than I originally suspected. I went from about 46.5GB/s in RMMT to 53.4GB/s. I also gained a solid 1k MIPS improvement in 7-zip, just from memory adjustments.

Edit: 4.4GHz is still a no go. Leave it idle long enough and it locks, as before.

However, I'm testing a bit lower vcore at 4.3GHz. LLC high, 1.375v bios, 1.356v idle, 1.308v load is stable so far.

don't mean to bump old thread but just wondering where can i download the F4v bios from? it's not available to download off Gigabyte's website, since all i see is F4u bios with release notes: Beta BIOS, Improve i7-3930K OC throttle issue

Well, it seems that there are still plenty of problems with this board. Running at stock settings (yes stock settings) for the last while and I have noticed that I have been getting strange BSODs from time to time, generally after the machine has been off for a while and then I do a cold boot. Basically, it turns out that the board somehow mangles something to do with the initialization of the memory which causes all sorts of errors to happen and BSODs to occur. In fact, it causes outright corruption of the OS. However, most of the time when this happens all that is required to bring the system back to stable is to shut it down once, then power it back up again. As soon as you do that, voila, no more problems and the system is rock solid. Now, what makes this super messy is that the problem only occurs when 8 dimms are used. If I take away 4 dimms (i.e., go down from 64GB of memory to 32GB of memory) all of the problems disappear. No more double pump boot, no more cold boot issues, no more BSODs, no more corruption. I have made sure that the memory is all good and after approximately 2 days of testing it there has not been a single error on any of the sticks.

Anybody else running 64GB at 1866MHz or higher and seeing something similar? Anything ring a bell? I can tell you that I was not able to reproduce this in non-Gigabyte board...only in this specific board (once again).

I do have some problems with corsair vengeance (two kits of 32 GB @ 1600 MHz C10 combined, since I could not find any corsair 64 GB kits at that time) in a 64 GB configuration; only way to get it approximately stable was to underclock it (1333, conservative timings) and raise some voltages. It's quite ironical that I choose this board, since I got tired of asus for ram issues.

Apart from that, I had to contact gigabyte support about the via usb 3 ports - which were not working. A firmware flash solved that, although they still do not work after standby. Apparently, there are even newer bioses for the vl800 around (add-on cards), so I guess I have to complain with gigabyte again.

Hello lads, I've been following this thread intently the past few weeks. I was interested in the board when it was first released but held off on pulling the trigger til its issues were ironed out. I ended up getting an asrock fatality champion board but had to send it back due to issues of its own so I'm back in the market for a new board and this one seems to tick all the boxes for me but I have a few questions for those of who own/have experience with this board.

1) I own an i7 3820. How is overclocking with the bclk on this board? Since the 3820 is multiplier locked I was looking at running at 125x37 or 133x35 (125x7 underclocks my ram so 133x35 would be ideal) to hit a stable 4.6ghz. Can this be achieved with the UP5?

2) I also have a set of quad channel 16gb (4x4gb) gskill tridentx 2400mhz memory modules (10-12-12-31 timings). Can the board handle 2400mhz and over? I managed to get this set stable at 2502mhz on my pervious board so I'm hoping I can at least hit 2333mhz if i run at 125x37.

I've been trying for a while to get my hands on a cheap 3820 to test how it overclocks in this board. I do not have one personally so I could not comment on the BCLK overclocking with that chip. BCLK overclocking for the 3930K sucks. Remember though that BCLK overclocking on the 3820 will likely not be the same as on 3930K...the board may be friendlier to the 3820.

In regards to the memory clock, I am pretty sure that the board will do fine as long as you stick to no more than 4 DIMMs installed at any one time. I had no problem at all running my 4x4GB CAS 9 2133 kit before I moved to high-density 8GB DIMMs. It worked with the XMP profile even without a hitch.

Overclocking with more then 4 dimms seems to be an issue on everyboard as even my pevious Fatal1ty Champion suffered from the same issue with 2 sets of quad channel kits. I am just about to bite the bullet and order this board so I will post back my findings with my 3820.
