The PSU is made for automotive use, it takes anywhere from 6v-24v and has safety systems integrated so it does't drain your battery. The 120w version does not have the 4pin +12v plug for the CPU, is there a problem with using an adapter from the molex connector that is on there? Here is a link to the psu by the way.

also do I need to buy a 20pin to 24pin adapter? I have read that you don't really need the extra 4 pins and that they were for the pci slots??

Ya these pico psus are pretty amazing. Im using one right now to power my HTPC I stuffed it all into a NES case, even has a working DVD drive in it.
