Which is best for the Corsair H100

post #1 of 27
Thread Starter
I have compiled 4 cases I really like and I was wondering how to fit a Corsair H100 into it.

My first and favorite choise is the Antec Dark Fleet. I know it will fit, but where and how and can I do a push pull config.

Second chiose is the Rosewill Thor V2. I wanted this in white, but they no longer make it. I know it will fit in the top, but again, what about the push pull config.

Third is the In-Win Dragon Rider. Does it fit on the top? and if so how?

And Finally the Coolermaster CM Stormtrooper. I have actually not read into this case really at all. So any details.

Note that this list is in order of which one I want. I am basing it purely on looks, not on air flow (although good airflow is a bonus).

Just as an extra here is a list of the parts I will be getting (some already ordered) for my build.

Case = to be decided
Mobo = Asrock Extreme 4
Processor = i5-3570K
Processor Cooling = Corsair H100
Power Supply = OCZ Z-SERIES 850W 80+ Gold Certified 24PIN ATX 71A Modular Power Supply With 135mm Fan
Graphic Card = Gigabyte 7870 2GB
RAM: G.Skill Ares 16GB (4x4GB) 1866
SSD: No idea
HD: No idea (again)

If you have any other suggestions on cool looking cases tell me. And I dont want a HAF 932, I already know 3 people with one.

I was in a similar situation. If you want to run the Corsair H100 w/ 4 fans in push/pull the storm trooper is unable to accommodate this without a case mod.

In my opinion to get the most out of the cooler and to keep it on the quiet side you're going to run it with 4 silent fans. I went with a Stormtrooper because it has some really nice features. I wouldn't say I regret getting the case, but I do dislike the fact taht Coolermaster didn't have the foresight to give it just a bit more room up top to accommodate a P/P setup.

Having come from a Haf 932, I feel like the Stormtrooper is a definite upgrade in terms of features and appearances. Again, the HAF 932 has more than enough room to support Corsair H100 with 4 fans very comfortably.

I can't say anything about the other cases but the HAF 932 and Stormtrooper are solid choices.

P.S. I'd stay away from ocz PSUs, just a personal choice.

Switch 810 is fantastic for the H100 and watercooling in general. My brother has one and i prefer it over my stupid expensive Cosmos 2. He has a H100 in it and it fitted nicely.

Got my H100 in HAF 932. Nice fit. Not sure if you wanting to go full size case or not. Might help narrow down your options

You can put a 240 rad in the back of the df85 in push pull or in the top of the Thor v2. Either case is a decent case.

If the dragon rider top is like the ironclad, then it does not fit. I had to do some major modding and completely cut out and replaced the top of the case. I think the ironclad and dragon rider are similar in case design but with different face plates, but I could be wrong. I would choose one of your other choices from my experience.
