what would be a good ssd drive to get? id like something fast, probably something about 120gb or so. it will be mainly for OS and selected progs.

Yea it's fine but you usually pay a premium for it and it isn't really anything special compared to other drives. Tho it a AES encryption if you need that, otherwise you would be better off paying less for something similar. Like suggested above. 830s are nice drives.

Oh, and to correct something said earlier, writing to RAID 1 is not half the speed of a single drive, it's exactly the same - both drives have to write the data, but since they do it simultaneously there is no loss of speed.
