WC Coolant or distilled water?

I've heard that coolant shouldn't be used at all. So if no coolant then I'm thinking to getting colored tubing instead of transparent. Any comments would be helpful?

I use mayhem's pastel range and it works fine in my loop, people have checked long term and it doesn't leave buildup in your rig.

Superb man, so I'll go with the transparent tubing then. Rep+1 biggrin.gif

Keep in mind for transparent tubing to either get Durelene or Masterkleer, Mayhem's is reccomending I think Masterkleer but both of them so far don't seem to exhibit plasticizer leeching compared to others out there.

I ran coolant for 10 months and had zero issues ... even in tubing that everyone else was having serious problems with, Primochill. The major reason why I stopped using it and switched to Distilled water, Mayhem dye, and a Silver Kill Coil was cost. With 3 RX360 radiators in my cooling loop, it would take nearly 3 bottles of FluidXP+ coolant. At $33 a bottle, it just doesn't make sense ... even if I only changed the fluid every 12 months. I can change the water every 2 months for $1.49 a gallon, and maybe go through a kill coil and a bottle of dye once a year that costs a total of $15. MUCH less expensive. I've also since changed from Primochill blue tubing to Durelene clear.

Oh ok, I'll try to find those, although wouldn't primochill work?

Has mayhems pastel really been around long enough for people to comment on long term use?

I don't see what you're looking at? The fact that the temps are a few degrees higher? That's a reasonable tradeoff IMO a few degrees for some awesome looking fluid. Even the review gave them silver and Editor's Choice for Pastel and a gold for X1.

Also 47 Knucklehead you should NOT use a killcoil with mayhem's, they already have biocides in the coolant.
