Looking for a TOUGH cell phone that I will only use to TALK on and can act as a WiFi hot spot for my tablet - Page 2

Maybe have a look at the Sony Xperia acro S? its what i am looking at getting for my next phone, water and dust resistant and i believe it has a Gorilla Glass screen ( don't quote me on that though ;D ).

Also has a decent dual core at 1.5 Ghz , a 12 megapixel camera, 342ppi screen ( not too sure about the quality but if my Xperia Arc S is anything to go on it will look really really nice ), and NFC.

I would say this if there was a 4g version. My dad has the first gen and he's not very nice to his phones. Needless to say it's still fully functional, lasts a week on a single charge, and yeah.

Otherwise.. maybe something like the Oppo Finder? Thinner than the iPhone5, but strong enough to be used as a hammer. The Finder 5 may have 4g, but the current version does not.

However, on the occasion that you do drop it, it is also the lightest iPhone ever, meaning that gravity will not drag it down as fast which gives you plenty of time to react and realize you have accidentally (or purposely) dropped your phone and you can just pick it up again before it hits the ground. It is also the fastest iPhone ever which should meet your requirement in that department (as it has 4G, etc).

Furthermore the new 4-inch display which is bigger should rule out your need for the use of a tablet as you will be able to easily perform your duties with it - the display size on the iPhone 5 is just right. As you don't need to text or surf the web however, the iPhone 5 is also perfect here as with iOS6, the world's most advanced mobile operating system, these features have been eliminated to reduce failure rates and slim down the size of the operating system - which makes it virtually the lightest iPhone ever, as well as physically (as mentioned above).

For a second, I almost thought you were serious. lachen.gif

The G-shock is great and all, but can it make calls in a black hole?

So far that is the one that is currently out that looks the best, but I'll have to check again, I thought that was only 3G, not 4G. It's listed as a EV-DO for connection.

There is a nokia phone that was waterproof. shock resistant. had a dinky screen that wont crack. I had one of the older versions a while back. While in the US Army we got banged around alot in all kinds of stuff. Even at one point the phone fell out of my pocket and got ran over by a tank and came out work. well it was in muddy area when i did it. Then another time it fell in the river where I was training at and floated away. We chased it down for mile and a half and could hear it ringing the whole time.

I highly recommend the Nokia phone IF I could remember the model number that is.

Well, you don't normally think of cellphones as things that can withstand destruction..(or even a normal fall for that matter). To hear otherwise, or rather a phone floating down a river while ringing is just smh.

That and I felt bad all day at work, so I'm happy to be home now after I got some stuff off my chest metaphorically speaking.
