You should use the passives "One with Everything" and "Seize the Initiative".

-The first will help increase your elemental resistances based off of the highest element.
-The second will take your dex and add it on top of your armor.

Find gear that is specific to Dex, Vit, and Crit damage/chance.

Pick an element to resist and use only that element with the first passive I suggested. Make as many pieces resist that single element.

Your level of Dex and Vit is great for where you're at. Now you just need to work on protecting that Vit.

Life. On. Hit. It will be your bestest friend ever. Other than that I would go with That Guy's suggestion. I'm a Witch Doctor player myself but I've helped enough players with buying gear from me for Monks to know a bit about what they need.

I took "That Guy's" advice, my lightning resistance was the highest so I built on that, and using "One with Everything" bumped my resistances to 150+ for each. Added a screenshot to original post to compare the before and after.

Social, I'm having a hard time finding affordable equipment that is near my current dex/vit with LoH. I gotta dump a bunch of old gear on the AH first

Thanks for the advice guys! Any additional suggestions after the changes I've made would be greatly appreciated!

Get a bunch of Life on Hit, and more resistance. You've got plenty of damage, more then my monk who's just killed diablo on inferno.

Also I would add the serenity skill that makes you invulnerable, and use the rune that makes it last longer. When you're getting owned, that skill will save you, and with LOH you'll be at full health by the time it ends.

You shouldn't have to spend much in the AH to get a decent piece of gear that will help out. I spent about what you have in your bank to get what I have.

I'll post a screenshot of my DH setup later on to give an example of my resistances and what not. I beat Diablo on Inferno with what I have right now.

With a monk, it's easier to get resistances up because of the resistance passive. Take advantage of that as much as possible.

Buffed up my resistance, which helped a ton when it comes to fighting elites and packs. Added a third screenie, most things remained constant, my resistances are up to 270+ for each type though.

I swapped out BoH for Serenity, much better!
Is Sweeping Wind any good? I have a feeling that my Crippling Wave active isn't as useful..

Here's my profile. currently in my magic gear, but I can solo all the way up to act 3. for progression armor and all resist were essential to stay alive. 5k armor and 500+ res if you want to do anything past act 1. also your dex is really high, your dps should be accompanied by good crit chance and damage. if you want to keep your dex as it is consider using mantra of evasion with the final skill rune that damages enemies on dodge.

Yeah Sweeping Wind is great, It adds quite a bit of damage, and does it to everyone surrounding you. Most people use the rune that makes tornadoes on crit hits; that seems to be the best one if you have over 20% crit chance.

Your resists are still incredibly low, you're getting there though. You have over twice as much life as you need (not that having too much is bad other than you're spending money on the wrong places)
Pretty nice DPS though.

Here is mine: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/TheYonderGod-1660/hero/21490525
But I am mainly a tank, I have friends that do the DPS, so I was focusing purely on tankiness and didn't care about DPS at all until a couple weeks ago when I decided to go for some decent DPS while staying super tanky, I went from 10k DPS w/ almost no crit chance (crit is awesome for sweeping wind for spawning tornados, it does tons of DPS) to 30k with ~33crit chance, but went down from about 1350 resist to 1200, also from like 3k LOH to about 2200.

All of my skills would be good for a DPS build like yours except Cyclone is mostly to keep the mobs clumped up and off of my DPS friends, and Templest Rush I honestly should change it for something else, I just use it because I'm lazy so I use it for kiting, it's easier to just hold down my mouse 2 when I need to move while fighting something.

Breath of Heaven and Blinding Flash (both with the runes that give you more damage) are also good skills, and Seven Sided Strike does tons of damage too.
