First attempt at OC'ing my X6800!

Well, here it is, I think I have maxed out this crappy cooling that came with the computer. Note, im not complaining, just saying the Zalman CNPS 9500 is not the best cooler. The ram is running 1-1 with the FSB at the timings 4-5-5-18-2, max load temps are 57c as monitored by TAT, and the Vcore is 1.28, that seems really low for me for this clock, is it? Is it normal? Sorry, im an intel noob!

Looking good to me. Temp is a tad high, but that's to be expected at stock. However you're still in the 'safe zone'

Crazy thing is, its not on stock, its has a Zalman CNPS9500, the temps seem really high to me, with all these other folks managing to get 1.35+ vcore on air, and staying under 57c. I went ahead and re-installed the fan with a better AS5 job and the temps are still high, starting to wonder if the bracket was installed correctly by the folks at nvidia.

For starters, you might have a considerably 'hot' cpu.

I also don't believe the zalman is your best bet. I even believe the freezer 7 pro outperforms it. MAybe you should go for WC or atleast the tuniq tower?

A cheaper/quicker solution might be adding another case fan. maybe you just have a bad airflow in general?

I dropped about 5-7C when I went from the Zalman to the Tuniq Tower....
