The difference between 1333Mhz ram and 2133Mhz ram on an 8 core @ 4.8Ghz is almost 1 full point in Cinebench 11.5
The difference between 3.1Ghz and 4.8Ghz is almost 3 points, so I guess a cooler is a better investment.

That said, I use a Xigmatek Gaia and I never go above 67c. I don't know what everyone else is doing wrong. (22c ambient)

he is asking about the 8120 which the max temp is 61 so your 67 would be on a different chip at least i hope other wise your cpu is prolly already degraded

you don't want to go above 1.4v or 55c for an everyday overclock with these chips i hear

I suppose you could have a very good chip. They generally run quite hot on even the best coolers from what I've heard.

Nah, I've overclocked 3 so far.

H100 since you like corsair. It's worth the extra money. Get decent fans for it though.

For what this will cost, buy a Rasa kit. It's the only real upgrade from high end air cooling. TC14PE, D14 and Silver Arrow are all so close to an H100 that it doesn't matter.

That would be way over the OP's budget.
