First thing that comes to mind is, the heatsink/fan is not mounted flush to the cpu, or too much or too little thermal paste was applied between the hsf and cpu.

Next I'd check in bios, what temperatures are your fans set to kick on, or up faster. Disable Cool n' quiet function, turn off thermal throttling if its on.

may have to check the fan kick in time it may be to high thanks..it it has the stock cooler on it so its still got that thermal pad or whatever u call it. i didnt bother putting other stuff on would cleaning it and putting some artic silver bring the temps down?

just had a bit of a play with it got it up to 2.7ghz on stock everything, stable not even a sign of trouble. temp doesnt move tho just sits on 47c. looks like it will be a pretty good overclocker.

yes cleaning it with an alcohol based cleaner is best, also check the cooler for dust and other foreign objects. note tha BIOS temps are actually the cpu loaded cant remember the actual load amount something like 80%. what are you using to monitor the temps??? you might have the wrong sensor selected

Also you should update bios. In some cases the stock bios will read inaccurate bios temps.
