Best budget monitor for Gaming

Thread Starter
Looking for a cheap but decent monitor for gaming. I don't have much around $190. Some of the ones I've been looking at are the ASUS VS229H-P and ASUS VS239H-P. I was hoping someone out there knows a monitor around this price that would be decent for gaming. I don't have any experience with monitors at all so all the help would be much appreciated smile.gif Thanks

I know this is a boring topic but I would really appreciate the help.

Thanks for the response. So you say that's better then the ASUS VS239H-P? I was thinking about trying out an ips monitor but not sure if it would be beneficial at all or not.

There are pages upon pages comparing IPS and TN panels and you probably know the difference anyways. They have the ASUS VS239H-P open box in stock on the egg right now for 152.

If you want to try an IPS panel then go ahead, I'm sure its a great monitor, but the reviews and all the people I know IRL that own the VW246h love it.

Edit: looking at the reviews on the IPS monitor I see they it is wobbly due to a skinny "neck", one reviewer said it was wobbling as he typed the review. Something to think about if you game at all.

Cool well I think I'm going to go with the ASUS VW246H. Any chance if you know if it goes on sale often?

I use the Asus VS247H-P, which currently sells on Newegg for $189.99 + shipping. I've had mine for about a year and it has been amazing. Given its great feature set, you'd expect it to cost a lot more than it does.
