2560x1440 monitors

my specs :

gtx680 sli

2600k @ 4.3GHz

8gb ram

hello, so i am look in to buying a 2560x1440p for not to much price and im currently looking in to 2 used displays which are selling under $250

so my choices are :

zr2740w

and

DELL 2711

im considering the ZR2740W because the dell 2711 has a red line running between the screen coz i am not sure how it will be fixed....

is the zr2740w a good choice??

also the problem is it only has DIV to HDMI cable or a DISPLAYPORT connections...... will i see a difference if i use DP or DVI rather then HDMI which am used too????

thanks

HDMI maxes at 1920 & can NOT do 2560

Since you are looking to spend about $500.oo ,, Just save up another $100.oo and get TWO Catleap 2703's

There are new revisions of hdmi that can do 1440 but for now either DVI-D or Displayport. Both work beyond 1440.

Also have you looked at a Korean 1440? Half price of the dell or hp.

Why spend $25 on a DVI-D cable? You should be able to get a decent one for less on newegg.

You want DVI or DisplayPort at those resolutions That specific cable is overpriced, I'd recommend buying from Monoprice.com. http://www.monoprice.com/products/subdepartment.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10209 Link to their DVI selection.

Just bought a Catleap monitor myself (after debaiting on risking it for 2 weeks) and am extremely happy with my choice. Monitor looks great, stand is so-so but doesn't wiggle as much as other people said (or it doesn't bother me as much). They're going up in price since people in the US started figuring out that they can get IPS/1440p/27" for ~$400, so buying earlier is probably not a bad idea.

check out the yamakasi catleap club if you're interested, thats where i started poking around. My monitor came with a DVI-D cable as well... think all of them do.
