how do i know if the gpu is a non preference pcb or preference pcb..
near as i can tell its a reference pcb for hole layout but the board is also not reference. The card offers a 6-8 pin power delivery vs reference of 6-6. The rear of the card is also different with its dvi/hdmi/mini hdmi. The twin fan cooler/shroud is different to reference also. No where directly have i seen it said that aftermarket coolers will NOT fit this card for these differences.

Call them and ask. Its a new product and there are many different manufactures who released the 570 cards. If they dont know im sure they can make something that will work for you.

I have done some looking into aftermarket gpu coolers and what i figure to be the biggest non reference issue is the moving of the gpu itself, relative to the reference design.
I'm rocking an AC L2 plus on my 5770 and i love it it is so dang quiet, to the point of inaudible.
However i would have to suggest that dropping that much on a gpu cooler might be excessive. what about the twin turbo 2 or extreme 2 and put the other $50+ into something else.

Two points to consider 1) the distance between the GPU core and PCI bracket and 2) the stacked DVI.

1. From reviews distance between the GPU core and PCI bracket is exactly the same as the reference card.

Reference: http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/graphics/display/gf-gtx570oc-roundup_3.html#sect0

2. The Hybrid fits on the reference GTX680 with its stacked DVI and since the GTX570 core is further away from the bracket than the GTX680's, it will fit fine with more space to spare.

Y not concider the mod with a h60 or 620 and a bracket. Half the price of the hybrids and compatible with all cards
