WOW restart - Page 3

I have an authenticator for D3 ( which I haven't played in about 2 months + is on a new battle.net account) since it was a requirement to sell in the RMAH. I got tired of it but made enough off RMAH to cover the game cost +. I think the problem was I didn't find out about this til just a few months ago and I quit playing 4-5 years ago. I'm thinking between that time maybe they purged old/ banned accounts. I've played MMO/ lot of other online games since 1999 and never had an account security issue. Maybe I'll get around to calling them this week and see how it goes. It couldn't hurt.

that is possible... who knows if any old info would still be there. when you log into battle.net you can go to account and it will list all the games you own (of theirs). you can click on wow if you have one and it should say 'frozen' or 'locked' i assume, which would point to the possibility of being able to recover. however if you just have 'starter edition' (the free to play to lvl 20) then it isn't the game you had purchased. I would assume since this is a expac launch their customer service will probably be fairly busy, which may work to your advantage if you get a gm that will override your ban quickly because he's so busy (optimistic thinking!).

I'm glad MoP came out when it did b/c I was bored. D3 was already extremely boring and I was sick of waiting for armored kill for BF3 (which I have forgotten to play since MoP came out) so this is good... my good ole wow'crack... feels good in the veins!

I have done it before to recover an old account that was sold off. friends have too but they have to send an email with their ID and cdkey scans

it's going to be a LONG time till mop drops in price. It took cataclysm about year and half and about the same for every other expansion.

I doubt that...WoW is no spring chicken these days. Did WoW have any competition at all when that expansion came out? Now days it has Guild Wars 2 to contend with, I think...I honestly haven't heard how the game is doing lately.

Well if you look at any activision-blizzard published game, dropping prices on their games is not a trend at all. It's just some thing they are stiffer on because they know they will sell and they do. Just look at WoW, Diablo, SC2, COD, etc.

I am in the same boat as OP. I quit about 3 months after Cata came out, was just too easy. I got geared for raids, did all the heroic instances maxd my crafting way too fast...coupled with terrible guild drama caused me to quit.

The funny thing is I want to get back in to the game, I even went as far and already bought the new expac...i just dont know. I am hearing alot of good things about the game. But i no longer know anyone who plays, not in a guild and i do have a 85 horde mage. Semi-hardcore is my style, dont mind raiding couple nights a week as long as it not 3-4 hours of us not getting anywhere. Problem my last guild had a big problem with.
