Out with the old, and in with the new. Completed the 24/8 pin MB cables. What a pain in the arse. redface.gif

In with the new

Not perfect, but I can live with it for now... I wish the cables were a bit more organized and cleaner at the 24 pin plug. I made all the wires one length, but since the plugs at the PSU are at different heights, the wires look separated and funky at the MB. The 10 pin connecter wires are stretched a bit farther then the 18 pin plug.

Dig the cheap Neon Green cable ties I picked up at Fry's, lol. biggrin.gif

Still waiting for my last order from performance pc's to finish the case. mad.gif

love the acrylic. Where did you get it and how much did it cost?

Thanks for the sub, the acrylic sheet is from performance pc's, $20 for a 19"x19" sheet. Not cheap, but is good stuff, 5mm thick.

Well today I got the ram correctly colored, and a few minor things done, which is about all I can do until the rest of the stuff is delivered.

Started with the boring ram...
IMG_4703.jpg

stripped it down
IMG_4705.jpg

Properly finished, the way GSkill should have done it! Even saved the spec sticker. tongue.gif
IMG_4710.jpg

Installed - I'm considering buying 2 more sticks of the ram just to fill up the open slots. It's cheap stuff. thumb.gif
IMG_4716.jpg

Tested and started to sleeve up the LED wires, had everything working until I sleeved the wires and the resistors fell apart. Pulled the heat shrink off the resistors and the leads were rusted completely gone. mad.gif That's the last time I buy the pre-wired LED's, I'll stick with wiring up my own from now on. Green LEDs look blue in the picture, but are quite green, I just have a crappy iPhone for pictures.
IMG_4718.jpg

What else can I show tonight........ Oh the Samsung 830 512GB found it's final resting spot.

IMG_4723.jpg

Here was my inspiration for the name change to the Green Rose (wife likes roses and green stuff, so what the hell).
IMG_4722.jpg

Then I got a little crazy with it and free handed a rose onto the back side acrylic with 1/4" pin-striping tape. Looking at it now, it looks more like a tulip. weirdsmiley.gif I threw it in the blast cabinet, and etched the inside of the acrylic on the back side and the inside top. It is transparent enough to see through, and you can see the rose in the etch on the side of the case. Wife liked it, so all good. The other side will stay clear so the goodies can be easily seen.
IMG_4719.jpg

That is it for it today. Hope to get more done tomorrow.

Finally got the last of the parts in yesterday, so mass assembly started shortly afterward.

Cable management the best way I know with nowhere to hide the cables.

Cooling loop in, starting to fill her up with some green fluid.

The rest shall speak for themselves:

Finished installing OS last night and moving the wife's profile data onto it. She has never used more than 35-40GB of disk space, so I think I might be replacing the 512GB SSD with a 128GB and reusing the 512GB in my next build. Seems like such a waste in this machine that will barely be used.

I am still waiting for some replacement LED's. I bought 2 more sticks of RAM and need to fix a couple minor issues, but I would call this build 99.9% complete. I will try and get better pictures up once I get a hold of my daughters camera.

Thanks for looking...thumb.gif

Thanks.

I have one PCIe Cable almost finished as well to match the white cables @ the PSU, but not sure I need it yet. I may or may not get a GPU for this. My wife does not game, so if I get a GPU for it, it would only be for my son to play on with his games. A smallish GTX 550 or 560 ti should be more than enough I think.

I had 2 more sticks of ram delivered in the mail today, so I will get those painted up tomorrow or this weekend and installed. Still waiting on new LED's/resistors to get the lighting finished. Also came across some really neat coolant I am thinking of getting, the Mayhem Aurora Green. It would make the cooling loop look a lot better I think behind this green acrylic you could actually see it moving. I can't even tell it has liquid in it as it sits! rolleyes.gif

Anyone have experience with Mayhem Aurora cooling fluid?? Currently running EK UV green.

The Aurora fluids will clog up your loop.
