[NZXT] NZXT Phantom, Evolved (Updated with reviews) - Page 56

@ xnine

I beg to differ...."We could give it away and people would piss and moan about price." That is not true in any way shape or form.

I'll agree with you on many case release threads there is "moaning" about $5-20 price windows on cases, and it gets old because most of the time people should get over it and just deal. But this is not the case here at all.

Half of the initial reactions in comments here have mentioned price. And the Price is a $70 jump over a very similar case NZXT offers! granted there is a few more things involved but not at +$70. I understand your a rep for the product but don't say something so blatantly ignorant. I would be willing to bet my months salary that the sales figures on this new case although good, would SKYROCKET in the coming months if it was similarly priced to the 810 because then you would be offering people a different aesthetic choice in the same price range with basically the same internal features. Costs are a factor I know but nothing added about this new case merits that big of a price gap.

So please be a good steward of the company you represent and their products by taking the criticisms presented on this site with a bit more sincerity and don't just blow them off because they matter for the sales figures and profit of a good company like NZXT. We all want them to succeed and bring us great products so don't get so butt hurt when there is legitimate critiques of it. Please take what is said here and voice it to the NZXT professionals to resolve the issues being brought up. Nothing against you personally, just please take things in better stride and help the consumers to be satisfied and wanting to buy your products more happily. Thank you for your time and effort.

Indeed it does. White, Black, and Gunmetal. All are matte finishes. After community feedback, we eliminated the "gloss" colors as people felt that the Matte was far more suitable to their tastes.

Love the case overall, but I'd have preferred a solid window side panel to a mesh one (on looks alone, I'll be going WC when I upgrade cases so a side panel fan is useless to me), and the QC concerns are troubling when you're in that price range.

I'll be looking into a full tower next spring, and right now I'm leaning towards the 800D (maybe the 900D, we'll see what comes of that). Love the aesthetics of the Phantom line, but you simply can't have QC problems at that price range. If it was a fluke, I've got plenty of time to see that be shown, but the HDD adapter was the really telling one for me.

I bought my phantom for $140, add in $40 for the led strip and side window panel from NZXT and I am at $180. Even the switch is $180, 200 if you wanna throw in led strips or 210 with the HUE controller. So in that sense I believe it is just a tad over priced. However, if it is still $250 by the time I am in the market to buy a new case and its something I want then I will buy it. Why? Because NZXT has some of the best customer service EVER. Hands down, you tell them what you need and you get it. End of story.
Looks great guys, keep up the good work smile.gifthumb.gif
Edit: Just wanted to comment on the mesh. As an original phantom owner I can attest that the mesh does in fact stop some dust from entering. Especially stuff like cat hair etc. Ive never had a problem with dust and the old phantom is lacking all of those dust filters save for the ones for the fans.

Thank you for your kind words smile.gif

Sure it does stop some of it. My tempest used to have a mesh side fan before I modded it. IMO to much dust get through it. Whats more it blows that small particle dust straight on the graphics card the one part that suffers the most from dust. If I where to get one of thees new Phantoms the first thing I would do is take out that mesh and replace it with some acrylic.

Even so I feel the biggest issue with this case is the it does not seam like a premium case. The quality is just not there. You really need to bring your A-game if you want to compete with the Silverstones, Corsair, CoolerMaster and Lian Li's of this price class. One thing that was always good about NZXT cases wast that even though they where slightly lacking in quality they had excellent value for money and stunning looks.

I'd have to see it in person. I didn't think the Corsair 600T was all that nice until I saw one.

I hope there's a new Phantom 410 in the works. Even though I'm a bit disappointed with the 820 I would probably get a mid tower version to replace my Lexa S.
