7970 Water Block

Looking to add a 7970 Ghz Edition to my XSPC Rasa 750 RX360 setup, A few questions

1. Can the kit handle the card plus the cpu (2600k OCed to 4.5)

2. What water block would you recommend, fittings?

3. Does anybody know anything about Diamond's warranty on water cooling.

1. Not sure. It will "handle" it, but temps will not be outstanding (I'm assuming you're doing push/pull). Another 240 would do nicely in carrying the load. You should know that when it comes to watercooling rads are not the equivalent to CFM with air cooling, waterflow is more important. However the second radiator will definitely help. I'm not sure where you could put it in your HAF.

2. EK's blocks are good, Heatkiller, Aquacomputer, or Koolance are all OK. They'll all do the same, it's really about how you want your block to look. I think that XSPC's new 7970 Razor might match your Rasa better than other blocks (but I don't know about how nice that block is), but it's up to you. Bitspower fittings are the best, Enzotech are also really good. Monsoons have been getting more and more popular, but I'm not a fan of how their collars get stuck to the barb's threads.

3. Nothing on that, but I'm sure if something goes wrong you could just slip the original air cooler back on, keep the original thermal pads, and hope they don't notice.

I switched over to the Haf 932 case, so a 240 and 360 shouldn't be a problem, i can go:

res/pump>>cpu>>240>>gpu>>360>>

The only thing about the xspc is, it doesn't cover the vrm, I was looking at the Koolance VID-AR797, but hadn't read too many reviews either. I'm not really concerned about the looks of the block but rather the noise/cooling performance. I can't stand the noise level of the 7970 at 50-60%. Will the fitting size that came with the kit work with the added card? Also will i need a backplate?

Almost all blocks perform within a 2-5% margin, so you'd be good with the Koolance. I'm not sure what size tubes you have, but with compression fittings there are many sizes to accomodate many size tubes.

The difference is in their flow. The one's that flow awesome, one is a non-player (DD) and the other do not want on principle. doh.gif

I'm aware of that, I know how watercooling works.

Honestly I like EK's blocks, but I only have experience with their last gens. My FC7970s work great.
