Im fighting with myself
the many numerous tweaks for a ssd seems at times daunting http://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=148601.0

heres the specs of mobo

Tweaks aren't necessary in order to have nothing but positive experiences with a Solid State Drive.

dont mess around for the price of 2 raptors you could get a nice ssd prob around a 250 Gb one aswell...
where are you located?
how much you wanna spend?
i mean you could get a samsung 830 256Gb ssd for less than 2 250GB raptors?
or spend a little more and get around 480 GB ssd...
theres no reason not to
there is some handy guides on using ssd's here on ocn and plenty of people to help smile.gif

My wife and I followed Sen Websters OCN Guide for SSD setup and Windows Optimization. We followed it piece by piece and only took maybe an hour of work.

I feel as though it was worth doing that.

In teh end, if you alreayd Own the raptors, than why not, do some HD Benchmarks, see wher eyou are Right Now, and then benchmark after the Raid 0 is configured.

if you Mobo is anything like mine, then setting up the raid 0 will be a breeze and incredibly easy.

but just to give you the idea again , my 250's in raid 0 (Sata 2 speed and Seagate 7200rpm's) gave me a simple increase of performance over standard drives. but it wasnt anything massive and amazing. and Unless you shortstroke the drives the performance gains will be random at best.
for good performance on standard HDD's in raid 0, it is best to use Single Platter drives, and partition the drives so that you only use a small amount, like 10-20% of the total drive volume.

For my 250's I gave myself only about 120 GB of total disk space
