Searching for the right WMO...

Thread Starter
There are plenty floating around ebay but I am wondering if there's any that are better than others.

A few months ago I purchased this one http://www.ebay.ca/itm/New-Microsoft-Wheel-Optical-USB-Compatible-Mouse-Black-/221064731179?pt=Mice&hash=item33787c1a2b#ht_2216wt_1186 but I feel as if the older one is better.

Does anyone know if there's older ones being sold, or perhaps any that are better than the one I bought?

That one looks counterfeit to me? Found a picture of one that looks real, let's compare and see. Yea, the one in your link looks like cheaper quality plastic and there's noticeable differences in other ways:

Are you sure it's "fake"?
I think it looks different because it's the white version. But indeed that plastic looks more sturdy looking material.
IM GOING NUTS trying to find the right WMO. Mine died (I have the 1.1a, that means it came with no box, afaik is the only difference) and the plastic looks similar:

WMO 1.1 will not say it's 1.1 on there, it will only say 1.1a. If it doesn't say 1.1, then it's a 1.1 which means it came from an original box:

So if you looked on this one, it would say this:

This is a 1.1, notice how it only says "Wheel Mouse Optical". Afaik, no sticker that says "Wheel Mouse Optical 1.1" exsist, only 1.1a like I said. They are exactly the same mouse.

So yeah, im going crazy trying to find a legit WMO. I want to replace mine, since im not sure I can repair the cable (the problem is it disconnects when the cable moves, and I dont know **** about electronics so I want a new one).

Please help, give us a link on eBay where they send legit WMO with the correct sensor and everything. I want a black one. I cant find any other mouse to replace it for Quake, I need this one.

Honestly speaking, I don't see why anyone would waste their time copying a $10 mouse. Intelli optical 1.1 and 3.0 would make much more sense (more popular around Asian region).

Also, the 2nd image isn't a "1.1". It's a 1.0 with the original sensor ^^

How would you even know without looking at the bottom of the mouse for the info?

The picture you linked (at bottom) was from a 3rd party website that did a review on the mouse in 2001. It's possible that the image has been re uploaded and re linked over the years to illustrate the bottom of the mouse, but of course that shouldn't matter as this isn't how I "knew" the difference.

Lets just say I'm very observant and cant pick apart certain features regardless of the "sticker" for info. Specifically, hardware or rather lens design being different. Alas, this shouldn't really matter as its almost impossible to find an original WMO. I just wanted to point out that the specific picture you linked was a "1.0"

Sorry: I might have not noticed there were 3 pictures posted.
