Benq XL2420t "artifacting" issue

Thread Starter
Hello, ive had my XL2420t for about a month now and it has been great.

I have been having some minor issues with this monitor since i got it. if i enable instant mode i notice that it causes horizontal lines to appear on the screen. these lines are not extremely visible but they are there, this only happens when i use a 120hz signal. if I turn instant mode off and turn it back on it usually goes away but comes back every time the monitor is turned on

Also, having the AMA feature on causes artifacts or "flickering pixels" in some applications. example: when I open EVGA precision x I can see a few pixels flickering all over the application window but as soon as I turn off AMA, they disappear. the only way I have been able to maintain a perfect picture is to have AMA off, instant mode has to be turned off and then back on to eliminate the horizontal "lines." keeping instant mode off actually creates some artifacts as well as AMA.
The artifacts only occur on certain applications which is weird. I can take a snapshot of EVGA Precision and the pixels still bounce around the picture so it has something to do with the colors. this also happens in SC2.

does anyone else have this problem? should i get it RMA'd? im afraid the problem wont be resolved if i do.

Green dots look like classic stuck pixels. RMA.

Yeah, the settings on the screen aren't the problem. Its the pixels themselves. Just RMA it and see if the new one fares any better. Keep us updated.thumb.gif

Banwell -
the pixels are not "stuck." when i move the EVGA application around the screen the flickering pixels follow the application.

Loose/faulty cable. Seen it many times before.

Whybother-
cables have been checked many times. it happens with DVI-D and DP. As stated in my description, the pixel problem goes away when AMA is turned off and instant Mode turned on. the horizontal bars also occur using different cables.
Well yes if the pixels are changing location then thats odd. I would check for the issue in the BIOS also. Because if it shows there its a pixel issue for certain.

You may have other issues like, faulty psu, OS specific issues like drivers and such, dodgy cables, even dirty/dodgy PCIE socket.

Can you test the monitor with another PC,console or Laptop even ?

EDIT - I am assuming your GPU isnt OCed too.

Same issue via my laptop.

Well there you have it unless this is a feature of the Benq - which I highly doubt - it needs to be RMAd. Sometimes things fail/break.

Ok thanks, this isnt an extreme problem but if you look you can defiantly see the issues. Im just afraid that benq wont address the issue and ive had similar experiences because of my picky-ness.
