My Final Project (Visual Basic 6.0)

Thread Starter
I am starting on it now.

"Write a zodiac program in which the user chooses from a list their zodiac sign. The program prints the name of the sign, a picture, plus a description of the sign's charactersistics."

Must incorporate:

A minimum of 3 forms
Labels
Text boxes
Cmd buttons
Imgaes/Shapes/Lines
Checkboxes
Option buttons
Frame
Message box
Menu bar

I can set up all the code and what not, I am just having a hard time finding what I want to do with it creativley. This is where you guys come in...gtg bell rang

I'd suggest lots of pictures of the actual signs. Make the pictures able to be clicked on and then bring up some sort of dialogue box.

Having the Zodia signs in a circle would look nice and give a balance. Can you code the pointer, or <tab> function to "get focus" on the sign that the user points to or selects with the <tab>?

Having a tooltip w/ the Zodiac names appear over the selected sign, instead of having them listed staticly on the screen.

For options, you could buttons selecting other info like celebs that share the users sign/b-day, or historical events. That could also be used with the check boxes.

You could use drop-down boxes to select the date of birth of the user.

You could split your forms up...:

Zodiac signs
Character rundown
Celebs
History

Anyhow, that's off of the top.... It's been a long time since I did any VB.

Hope it muses.

What do you mean by "Can you code the pointer, or <tab> function to "get focus" on the sign that the user points to or selects with the <tab>?"
I know I can do the tool tip text for when I mouse over it. Great ideas by the way.

this is what my option screen looks like...I haven't been too creative lately

This is Microsoft Visual Basic Studio 6.0 and I am at school so I am limited to only the VB code and what I can do in the program. Yes it is a Windows program.
Now, I think I am going to redo it like this. What do you people think?

I really appreciate anything and everything you suggest, thank you.

sorry, I'm not at home right now, so I don't have all my resources.

When the user hovers over the Zodiac symbol then that symbol gets focus for the <enter> key (or whatever command you choose).

Like at the bottom of this reply, there are 2 keys: "Submit Reply" and "Preview Post". When I place the mouse cursor over one of them or use the tab function to toggle between them, the "focus" switches between keys. By default the Submit Reply has got the focus, but can be over-ridden by the mouse pointer....

Ok, I have been in Tennesse for a week but now I am back. Why is it impossible to code this to have the cmd buttons all on one screen then click on one and have all of them load to 1 form seperatly instead of using one form for each message of each sign?
