Evga gtx 680 4gb and heat.

Thread Starter
Hey.

I got 2 680's in sli which is the Evga on the top main and the Gainward gtx 680 phantom at the bottom.

Is it normal for the Evga gpu to be at 80 celcius under gaming? Or is that too high?
http://www.komplett.no/img/p/400/87ced584-6156-4959-a548-a4d7213212ba.jpg

Cause the Gainward gpu is only at ax 66 degree at max power which is good, but not for the evga with 80? :S

The top card will be hotter, but 80c seems rather high in my opinion. I had 4-way 680's and the top GPU maxed out around 68c.

Do you have a fan profile set up?

No, no fan setup.

I thought it was to loud as it is :S

Maby i can change it to be at the bottom, so it can be cooler and the coldest card can be hotter to balance the heat.

The gainward phantom at the bottom is exhausting heat internally right into the evga Gtx 680, switch them.

Your evga card is rear exhaust while the gainward is internal + rear so you always want the internal exhaust card on the top so it does not shoot air into another gpu

Yeah could be the way to go. But you really should get a fan profile setup if it continues to be excessive.

Just found out that 680 can handle as much as up to 98 celcius, so now i have no worries about the 80c as much anymore.

Put the evga on the bottom. The phantom adds more heat to the case, put that on top. Evga 680 on the bottom won't effect the gain wood on top as much as the other way around
