As far as crossfire:

Trinity A10 "dual graphics" with HD 6670 and A8 series with HD 6570 if you're just light gaming and don't want Intel.

FM2 is going to last 3+ years. Am3+ is unsure.

Wouldn't the single 7850 or single 7950 be better than the hybrid crossfire method you suggest? And with the igpu disabled would that not give me more oc headroom for the cpu half?

There's no comparison.

A single 7850 would murder any hybrid CFX setup.

If light gaming on older games I wouldn't buy a 7850. It's a waste of money and power.

The reason why I think if someone builds a Trinity build they ought to pair it with a $70-80 HD 6670 is because of dual graphics. I could be wrong though and maybe $100 or so HD 7750 or $120 HD 7770 is a better combination.

The way I see it, you wouldn't push a $200ish GPU on a $120 CPU. Price parity and all (on top of possible bottlenecking).

Just IMO.

APU is an entry level combo. Meanwhile vishera is mainstream towards high end with good performance on multi threads application. 7950 or 7870 are for demanding games. If you dont play demanding games just go with APU.

i'm pretty sure the trinity would not bottleneck a single 7850, which actually suits my gaming habits quite nicely.

I recommend AM3+ with Vishera. FX cpus are more powerful overall simply by the availability of having more modules and more cache (L3 versus no L3, 2 modules vs 4). Also your 260 is about twice stronger than the top Trinity GPU (7660D). If money is an issue, you might as well get a 4 core Vishera.
