Why Am I Limited To 60Hz

Thread Starter
I am trying to reach 120Hz in BF3, but the settings only go to 60Hz. My new rig is connected from the 7950 graphics card via HDMI to the receiver, witch is connected to my TV via HDMI. It is a Samsung Led 1080p. Its says has some kind of virtual 240hz/actual 120hz. Is the TV just really 60zz or am i missing something entirely?

Thanks

HDMI doesn't support 120Hz.

Connect the video card directly to the HDTV via Dual Link DVI cable. If the TV is really 120hz it will support it with Dual Link DVI as far as i know.

However most HDTVs do not really do 120hz they just emulate it thru motion filters, but they do not display a 120hz signal.

Only Display Port and Dual Link DVI connections have the bandwidth to do 120hz 1080p+

Your tv doesn't support 120Hz input but the screen is 120Hz. You might be able to force 120Hz but the tv probably wont accepted the signal and if it does it might have artifacts as HDMI is not designed for that much throughput.

You might not believe me but I did manage to force 120Hz on my 3D vizio

All TV's are 60hz. The xxxhz TV's use motion interpolation.
