Installed ASK toolbar...

Thread Starter
I accidentally installed ASK toolbar, and I think this happened when I ran the ImgBurn setup. Literally hate toolbars with every single vein in my body. I wasn't expecting ASK toolbar to be integrated. I've removed the ASK toolbar from the Windows Add/Remove programs screen. Might there be any traces left that I have to remove?

I seriously hope that developers are considering to remove the sneaky installation techniques. It's too bad that they put it there.

I recently went through the same situation with a toolbar i unchecked and some other junk that hijacked my browsers defaults. gunner.gif
Check out ninite.com. you make get a little installer file and it'll automatically update or install the selected programs. with no junk. the best part is you can shut off all those auto updaters (adobe and java I'm looking at you) and just run it ever couple of weeks to make sure everythings good.

Uninstalling should work, you'll probably have to reset your default search and home page.

No they wont stop because the toolbars create profit for the devs by data mining your information to better target advertising at you.

Hello Battleaxe321 - sorry for the trouble you're having with our toolbar. It sounds like you've removed it pretty well, but just to be safe, I'd suggest downloading and running the uninstaller utility we've created for this purpose. You'll find a link for it toward the middle of this article on our Knowledgebase.

If you need any additional support, our team would be happy to hear from you via this link.

Best regards,
Eric
