[Solved] Is 65°c too much for Club 3D Radeon HD 6950 with fans at 100% ?

Thread Starter
Pretty much what the title says.
I have a Club 3D Radeon HD 6950 Battlefield 3 Edition with 2 fans if that matters.
I have it clocked at 825 MHz which is 25 MHz higher than normal, and the memory clock is at 1300 MHz which is 50 MHz higher than normal.

What should i do ?
Thanks in advance !

Is that Idle, or Load temperature?

If it's idle, then it's way too much, if it's load temperature in game, then it's fine.

Can you redirect one of your case fans so that it blows directly on the card?

I just found out that it's both when idle AND load. Weird.
Also, CCC AMD Overdrive tells me that the "Activity" is 96% so maybe it's on "load" all the time ?

If its 65c (Load) then you got nothing to worry about , rolleyes.gif i say you check the temps with an external temp checker , maybe something is wrong with the temp scanner so its showing the same thing both at load and idle
post #7 of 10
What did you use to get your OC, I used trixx and it kind skewed my idle temps (the card refused to clock down in desktop) but like everyone said if those temps are load temps then its fine.

If It's idle and load at the temp then the sensor can't be working correctly. have you tried to restart the system or remove the card and insert it again?
Edit: 9 Hours ago, I assume you have already restarted.

Well, it shows that it's always at 98% actvity in CCC.

I use AMD's Catalyst Control Center.

It shows almost full activity all the time, so i believe something is causing the activity.

I fixed it !

Turned out it was a svchost.exe file located in the 64 bit program files java installation. Could probably have been a virus, as i've heard about some java exploit recently.
