Aqua Computer going ahead with transistor replacement / testing on my ailing Aquaero Pro and I've already fronted them the money for return shipping. They agree that the transistor blowing was most likely related to the MCP35x pump dying and think that replacing the single part will bring the Aquaero back to full functionality. If not.....well then I'll just use it for something that doesn't require pwm control as that was the only thing affected.

So within 10 days you got your Aquaro back.

That will be lucky if it just took out a transistor and I am happy for you so in 2 weeks you should have them back..

Luck. Never sure whether I want it or not. Can be good, can be bad......

Today is work on my shop day again. Yesterday I ripped all the electric out so I can continue with my insulating/boarding. Very slow going but a piece here, a piece there and it all comes together eventually.
My shop is nothing fancy, a 12x20 bare metal building I bought and had delivered last year.

Occurred to me I didn't list what I ordered for the light panel.
*5M light strip
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AUCJC4I/ref=pe_175190_21431760_3p_M3T1_ST1_dp_1

*Some led strip connectors that can be used to make angled connections if necessary.
*2 pieces of 1/8" 20% white acrylic 12x24"
*1 white egg crate diffuser panel
*1 clear prismatic diffuser panel

The diffuser panel is just something I thought I would try. I have no idea if any of it will work or not but the only way to find out is to get it and see. Not even sure how thick it is. wink.gif

Any leftover led strip I'm going to use under some cabinets in the house.

Hmmmm. New Asus Z87 board lineup in gold .....reminds me of ECS boards

Wonder how that would look with the copper pipes....and maybe some yellow or sand colored sleeving......? Yum.

Really arguing with myself if I want to stay with Gigabyte (price, excellent RMA service, good dependable boards) or maybe move to Asus (tons of features, maybe not so good support?)

Apples != Oranges

A much more fair comparison would be to the Maximus V Formula as Haswell and the Z87 are the successor to S1155 and Z77 not the successor to 2011 SB-E and the X79. Haswell is still only dual-channel, so no real reason to support 8 sticks - although for that matter not much of a reason on X79 either since 4 is all that's necessary. smile.gif

I like the color scheme on it - would look really great sleeved with black, shade19, and vanilla sands no17 from Nils. smile.gif

What exactly is shade 19-some sort of grey? Hard to tell from the pics on Nils site. Somewhere I have a bag with samples if I can find it....
