Either one is bad, but at least with a tornado it's a little more like Russian roulette - for any single home the chances are pretty slim it will get hit (although this is no consolation to the people that are in that 'slim chance' frown.gif ). With a hurricane (at least Cat 3+ ones) it's like playing the same Russian roulette... but with a Mossberg pump. If you're anywhere in the relative vicinity things are gonna go south fast!

Bad part is, on the east side of town, you can hear the trains running along the river, 2 an hour, horns and whistles blowing, and sometimes that locomotive sound can really hum ... and at this time of year, gives me the shivers at night when its storming, or about to .... I can't go to sleep. No basement, just a bathtub to hide out in. Gotta quit typing about this stuff, I don't wanna jinx it all up !

I hear ya. I've thought several times that if I lived in the Midwest... I'd just build my house completely underground! Heck, if it weren't for everything being nearly solid granite beneath the topsoil here I'd do that now! Nice green living - no need for cooling, and only minimal heating requirements year-round. Of course, with my luck, we'd get an earthquake right after I got it all finished. rolleyes.gif

Got to thinking today....(always dangerous, I know but) ordered a 9"x24" sheet of mirrored acrylic "just in case".

I like what you're thinking - dangerous or not. I was thinking the same thing - well side lit white actually, but essentially the same - but decided I was sick of seeing my rig all over the floor of my office and nixed that idea. biggrin.gif

I've been watching the news this morning about Moore, OK and it's just unreal devastation. The only thing I've ever seen even remotely like that is when hurricane Andrew tore apart S Florida.
Very sad.
I've been through hurricanes but I just can't imagine being pummeled by those super tornadoes that destroy your house in seconds.
.
.
I am still accumulating parts, waiting for acrylic I ordered. Meanwhile I've been insulating and putting up ceiling/walls in my shop. With the 90* heat it's starting to kick my old butt but I'm trying to get it finished. Also picked up a UV light for my goldfish pond I need to get plumbed in somewhere between the pump and the waterfall. Hopefully it will help with the algae bloom that clogs the pond every summer.
I'm off to Lowes to pick up some more building and plumbing parts..........then I might take it easy and catch up on forum chatter and recuperate a little.

My 1/8" 20% Acrylic sheets came in. Also the diffuser panels. The eggcrate style is fairly thick so I don't think I'm going to be able to use it. Yet to come is the mirrored acrylic sheet..... I may end up having to stack the 1/8" acrylic....I didn't think that I have bulkhead fittings that have to be attached, and I don't think 1/8" is gonna cut it. Should have ordered 1/4" sheet maybe.
I'm debating if I want to wrap this in metal or just cut some strips of acrylic and glue them in place. I see everyone apparently using a metal frame for light panels and I'm not exactly sure why, unless it's just a matter of convenience or to hide the led's so they don't show up individually.

Thinking on this more, I think the 1/4" translucent acrylic I already have in the bottom of the case will pass enough light, so I could use it for the top sheet in the panel.

Show me a pic of your crimp and maybe I can help you, you can PM if you like. Precrimping the ATX pins makes it easier. wink.gif
