Welcome adridu59.

Finished my case fan harness, looks about like the others except positions for 5 fans and the link back to the AQ5. Got it hanging behind the mobo tray.
Not picking up any rpm readings off any of the fans, though. Something I'm not understanding here. thinking.gif
Pump rpm shows up but it's connected differently on ch 4/rpm header. But everything is set manually right now, and I can set the percentage of voltage and read it so that's nice. Worth saying once again, this machine is really quiet!
Found the adjustment for the temp sensor, but without something to compare it to I can't set the offset properly. Got to think about that. The adjustment allows +/- 10c so for now I maxed it. In reality it will be the differential that will be important rather than the actual temp readings themselves for control purposes, I would think.

If the temp sensor is really off that much...I wouldn't want to try and adjust that much with an offset. If the offset even goes that high. I think you must have gotten hold of a bad sensor. I'd send it back if you have the time and patience.

Yes, the adjustment does go that far. Currently I'm taking a wild guess and have it set for +8, which with a 23.8 ambient reads 27.22 coming off the radiators.
What sort of adjustment does yours have, or are you using the Aquacomputer inline sensors?
I was hoping I wouldn't have to come up with an expensive way to calibrate it, but I'll check with the forums and see what shoggy et al says.

Found out what kept locking up my graphics during initial Windows install/update, as I suspected it was Intel HD4000. This time I saved it for last. Soon as it updated my screeen went black. I rebooted and disabled onboard graphics and that fixed it. Probably can re enable it now it's been through a boot cycle.

Think I found a way to fix my broken temp sensor, and it seems to work OK. The actual element is not in the flow of water, but wrapped around the fitting and covered with a rubber cap. I took another sensor and applied it to the fitting and laid it in the case, and it's reporting a temperature. Nothing complicated about it as I once thought. thumb.gif

I'll be doing my SM8 log as soon as I get all the water cooling parts

UPS should be delivering my UP4 board today. thumb.gif
I struggled between getting this board and the UP5, it was a really hard decision based mostly on my bank account. I'm still second guessing myself. thinking.gif My rationale is that when Haswell comes around and I decide to go that route, I will want a higher tier board so why spend the money now. If I don't like what Haswell has to offer, then the plan is SB-e and I will need every penny I can scrounge up.

I've been playing around with Aquasuite, the controlling software for the AQ5. It seems to have a lot to offer and I've barely scratched the surface. I have enabled some software sensor readings from AIDA 64 to be read in Aquasuite, which is pretty cool. Now I need to figure out how to use sensor readings to implement fan and pump control, and I'm struggling a bit with that, as well as trying to combine the sensors all on one page for viewing. I know I will get there, and I'm excited at the possibilities for automagically controlling all the cooling.

So I need to drain the loop and start pulling the system apart and get ready for delivery of the UP4 so I can slap it on the tray and get that puppy fired up. smile.gif Hoping Windows/Office 2010 doesn't give me major grief. Also hoping that my blue 18 gauge wire will be here by Saturday, I will need that to match up with the b-magic sleeving so I can continue to build my wiring set and get rid of the fugly stock cables.
Lots to do.
Here's a quick shot of the front with the new black faceplate installed on the AQ5:

For those that haven't seen it, here's the workstation pulled out of the case. Case Labs also includes rubber feet that can be screwed onto the backside of the motherboard tray. Since I won't have the station out long term I just placed a towel underneath to prevent scratching the paint.
This table is my all purpose work/sleeving table, replete with light and heatgun, containers with pins, connectors, tools, etc. and has casters mounted for easy moving to the HT area for TV or music while working. Right now we're checking out Burn Notice on the TV.

The Ford of pc hardware - the black drive face plate. It would be worth the effort, imho, to either paint that drive's faceplate either to cover the lettering, or to paint it white.

The Aquaero is fine, but that drive face is like looking at that dog in The Little Rascals comedy - with the drawn-on raccoon eye circles. Just sayin ... Otherwise, looks like you're getting on ahead with all the adjustments and solutions for all that gearage ! Must keep you busy
