[Build Log] Merlin (Water Cooled r-atx SM8 w/dual Pedestals / Z97X-UD5H) - Page 61

Hey mandrix, what are the parts number for pins from Newark? I was going to buy from there but at the last minute, I emptied my cart because I wasn't sure if I had the right pins. I need ATX female pins for VGA, EPS, and 24 pin connector and I need male and female molex pins and some fan header pins.

MOLEX - 39-00-0039 / 39-00-0038
One is loose pins, the other on reel strip.

Now what about molex 4 pin connectors both male and female and fan pins?

Never ordered those from Newark.

Try this for female fan pin: 08-50-0114

Try this for 4 pin molex pins:
(Obviously these are AMP numbers, but you should be able to cross reference somewhere)
AMP - 61314-1
AMP - 60618-1

Otherwise look here:http://www.overclock.net/t/1327420/pc-crimping-part-numbers/0_20

Sorry I've got the rig torn all apart and trying to get some stuff together and out of the living room.

Jeffinslaw did you find what you needed? Sorry I was in hurry trying to finish something up and get ready for football. I'm on my backup computer and don't have access to some of the part numbers, and some I've never ordered from Newark.

In the Cables and Sleeving forum there are some good links, and I've bought connector housings from Mouser, pins from Newark, etc. I like to buy the loose pins when I get the minifit jr, saves having to pull each one off the reel/strip.

A real good source for plain black 1/4" 3:1 shrink is at Allied Electronics.
http://www.alliedelec.com/search/productdetail.aspx?SKU=70133170
This is 4 foot sections, and it's shipped in a tube so it's not all knarly looking when you get it. I usually order a bunch at a time, surprising how much you can use when doing "shrinkless" sleeving. smile.gif
They also have the same in 1/8" shrink. Black only in those sizes, though.

18 AWG wire I usually get from Ebay, http://stores.ebay.com/Ennis-Electronics-151/18-GAUGE-WIRE-/_i.html?_fsub=1526486011&_sid=883006441&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322
except the real thin wire I used for the SATA power cables I got from Amazon thanks to a link Lutro0 posted. It was easier (for me) to do the SATA punch down connectors with the thinner wire. (.0403" OD)

+1 for that all day long! It's amazing how many different ways you can search for something and still miss a concise (and pretty complete) resource right 'at home' so to speak. Thanks for 're-finding' that link for those of us that missed or were somehow "search retarded" like myself. thumb.gif

lol. Yes, OCN is a pretty amazing resource. But I'm like you, if I "search" for something it seems I can never find it. My problem is I have links strung between two machines and I don't always have links for everything on one.

Merlin is currently sitting in the living room since I installed the RX240 yesterday. Still trying to work all the plumbing out and I have a boatload of wire to tidy up on the side since I moved the drives. When I did the SATA power for the DVD I did not do a good job on the heatshrink near the connector. I thought I had one length of sleeve measured right and so I just cut the rest the same length. Wrong! lol I'll have to get back to that at some point since even the overall length is too much.
Also I had to sub an Alphacool bulkhead fitting to use as a spacer/coupler since it's threaded inside G 1/4 and I ran out of regular fittings.
So today I'll try to finish the plumbing and see if I'm happy with it before I tackle all the loose wire on the side of the case.
Trying to get it all together in time to get pics for the Case Labs contest.

Yeah I seem to have links all over the place myself... now I've started putting most of the ones I frequent on my iPad because I never have it 'all torn apart for reconfiguration' so they're always available - but I still seem to misplace resources somehow.

Congrats on the nom... and good luck with the contest. biggrin.gif

Those pins for the fans look dead on, thanks! Still on the hunt for pins for 4 pin molex connectors!
