Finally case sitting on ped. Need to make harness for case fans and retest ped fans before filling loop for leak testing.

Wires all over!

Wires from pedestal fans still there. Looks like I have plenty of slack. rolleyes.gif

Merlin with dog bone in background. Hey, the dog helped! Explains the quality of the work.....
Pedestal grill not flush, just sitting there behind cover because no way to get it inside pedestal, rads in way. Would be no problem with 420mm rads, but that's ok, I'll take the 480's.

Anyway have to take a break and do some yard work.

Talk to Jim see if he can offset it in the other direction so at least its sitting out the back not the front? or is it both?

It attaches inside the pedestal. There's just no room to fit it inside and still have access to the fittings. I would have to actually take the radiators loose to insert the flex bay cover. I will come up with something later when I get fittings in for drain line.

Can you reorient the rads so fittings are toward the rear of the case? That usually saves about an 3/4 inch of space...depending on the rads.

No difference, I'm afraid. Plus I need access to the fittings, of which there is none in the rear. No openings back there, not really sure why they made it this way. Of course in a tight I can always take the whole end off, (that's the way I mounted them). These 480's take up most of the available end-to-end space. To run the tubing up to the case I used one 5 way rotary to a 3 way rotary/bulkhead fitting and the other is a 45 aimed at the floor of the ped and looped up to a straight fitting/bulkhead. It all works out although tricky when you're working alone. wink.gif When I get the Y & aqua tube for the drain I'll probably take the whole end off and place the flex bay cover normally.
Funny ain't it? When you have a certain case you think if you had just one more inch.....then you get a bigger one and it's the same thing. lol, never satisfied. smile.gif

Ordered 2 more sticks of Kingston HyperX and another Sammie 830 for the build. (Samsung 128GB $89 at Newegg right now!) At some point I will most likely set up 2x 830's in RAID 0 and hope the TRIM works.
Probably order another graphics card by the weekend. Never hooked up water cooling for a crossfire setup before, but I guess it's not rocket science.

Hoping my b-magic sleeve gets here real soon! I need to get the psu cables fabbed up and sleeved. I'm going to build my own ATX cables, the Seasonic 8 pin especially is too long for the r-atx board orientation and fabbing it won't take too long. The 24/18/10 pin cables will take me some time, though, and I already have extra connectors for that, 18 gauge wire and a good stock of pins to crimp with my fabulous MDPC crimper. A real relief to use a good crimper after fighting with the Hans long crimper on the last build, which resulted in me almost taking it out and shooting it. rolleyes.gif

Wondering what happened to my fittings for the ped drain, was supposed to be here Saturday but no joy. The order I placed later in the day IS here so I'm not sure what USPS did this time.
USPS is going through what appears to be a major downsizing, as they are closing package centers around the South, add to that overseas orders seem to languish with a lag time of up to two weeks after they hit New York. Amazing something can go from Germany to NY in a day but take up to 2 weeks to get to Florida! /rant:off
