Probably order another graphics card by the weekend. Never hooked up water cooling for a crossfire setup before, but I guess it's not rocket science.
Hoping my b-magic sleeve gets here real soon! I need to get the psu cables fabbed up and sleeved. I'm going to build my own ATX cables, the Seasonic 8 pin especially is too long for the r-atx board orientation and fabbing it won't take too long. The 24/18/10 pin cables will take me some time, though, and I already have extra connectors for that, 18 gauge wire and a good stock of pins to crimp with my fabulous MDPC crimper. A real relief to use a good crimper after fighting with the Hans long crimper on the last build, which resulted in me almost taking it out and shooting it. rolleyes.gif
Wondering what happened to my fittings for the ped drain, was supposed to be here Saturday but no joy. The order I placed later in the day IS here so I'm not sure what USPS did this time.
USPS is going through what appears to be a major downsizing, as they are closing package centers around the South, add to that overseas orders seem to languish with a lag time of up to two weeks after they hit New York. Amazing something can go from Germany to NY in a day but take up to 2 weeks to get to Florida! /rant:off

Hope all you want, but it still won't.

Maybe in Windows 8 at some point, but don't count on that too much either.

It's a MS issue as to why trim can't work in raid.

As long as you overprovision significantly and have reasonable amounts of idle time, garbage collection does a very adequate job in place of trim.

How did the ped rads end up, in on one side and out the other, or both exhaust?

Nice. I was torn on black/white so bad on mine. r-ATX... love it.

Pedastal... so nice. If I hadn't previously built a rad stand I would have been all over that add on.

It should work with the latest RST driver. Article for Darlene.

Yep, it's been proven to work with the right driver. On Win 7.
I didn't get quite the read speed that Anand did with 2x830's in RAID 0, though, mine was between 800-900 instead of a gig.

Finished up my harness for case fans today and have a workable setup for a drain in the pedestal. Need to get on to testing all the fans to make sure I don't have a wiring ooops somewhere: for some reason I have a hard time getting male fan connector pins to insert correctly. After that I'll fill the loop and leak test.
Still looking at a second 7950, I'll probably go with PowerColor again because the performance is top notch. Will be a slightly different model though, the one I have is pretty much dried up for some reason. I'll just get a EK block like the other one. Lotsa copper bling, I'm staying away from the nickel for now.

Hey, thanks for the link thumb.gif

Unfortunately, by 7 series, they mean 77 but Not X79, which is what was passing thru my mind, as that's what I run in my switch build.

Seems that Maybe down the road, the e (enterprise) driver will support it. Glad I have the revo in the meantime, lol

OTOH, that's great for mandrix, glad it's working.

Thanks again for the updated info,

Darlene

BTW, does it make any difference if it's the system disk or a just a storage disk?

The test was not on the RAID 0 as a system disk, not that it should matter, but sometimes things are strange.

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm running X79, and have been anxiously waiting for a couple months since Intel teased us with the upcoming X79 support. Should be OK already for Mandrix's build though.

Here's some further reading on RAID in Win 7, and is where I first found out:
http://www.rwlabs.com/article.php?cat=&id=672&pagenumber=1

Samsung 830 128GB $79 at Newegg today and I paid $89 yesterday. That is my luck revealed. If I had more space......lol. More like more money.....

OK I ordered the second 7950 and a backplate for the gpu block, will be ordering the gpu block and crossfire setup as soon as I finalize on how I'm going to connect the two cards.
This is my first run with watercooling a crossfire setup, and I'm looking for options. Serial? Parallel? Block or tubes?

I'm thinking the blocks will be OK in serial but am open to a parallel bridge. So I need some options as I said above. Links helpful! If a bridge is recommended then either white or black should be OK with this build?

This is your chance to give some input, I plan to order today! Ordered.

Oh yeah, the UD5H has 3 slot spacing for the two cards, slots 2 & 4.
