Unlock Samsung Galaxy S2 for Virgin Mobile USA

Thread Starter
Pretty much what te title says. Would it be possible to buy a Samsung Galaxy S2 and then unlock it for Virgin Mobile USA? And if so does anyone have good instructions or a good link on how to do this? I don't see why it wouldn't work because Virgin uses the Sprint network, as does Boost, and Boost has a Galaxy S2. Any info would be helpful.

Since all of those use Sprint's network and Sprint is a CDMA provider, you can't "unlock" it. You CAN flash it to a different carrier. I'm not too knowledgeable on that but it is definitely possible.

You have to check radio bands. Sprint is CDMA not GSM.

If you get the Sprint version (Epic 4G Touch) use that guide above to flash it over to Virgin Mobile. The boost Galaxy S II should be the exact same phone as the Epic 4G Touch but I haven't had a chance to play with it yet. The easy way to tell is the battery. Sprint's Galaxy S II has a different size battery than all the other Galaxy S II's released.
