Yeah we do that with IE6 & 7 and ask the customer too update or change browser. I'm cosidering doing this with 8 too shortly but that would restrict anyone not on W7+.

Sigh if only you could just shake some people lol

I prefer to use Chrome personally over IE9, and Firefox for regular everyday web browsing.. I do use IE when I do my online banking, or anything related. Chrome, on my rig anywho, is MUCH faster in terms of startup, page loading (almost instant for the most part), and just overall. It's the main reason I use Chrome. Just love how responsive it it. While I do feel more "Secure" on IE9 tho.

I'm really not inclined to believe that Chrome is the number one browser.

Nor do I want to. Firefox for life:p

I still have some web sites that don't work properly with Opera, so I use IE as my backup since it ALWAYS works.
Also many sites I go to (school and work) allow only IE for viewing (a friend with a Mac couldn't access work stuff because of this).

Exactly! Whenever a websites is not working or is not loading in Chrome, I have IE to fall back on, and 99% of the time it works.

EDIT: Off topic, does anyone know good IE equivalents of AdBlock and Ghostery?

Thanks

IE10 blows away Firefox. It's a shame, really. I wish I didn't have to pick between plugins and speed.

I use Waterfox for most things, not because it's faster or safer (which I don't think it is) but because I can customise different areas of it and I like the add-ons.

See, I'm using Firefox 18, and that's because NoScript and I are inseparable. How I wish I could use NoScript with IE10, or have IE10's speed while using Firefox.

Unfortunately none for adblock but there is a ghostery I bleieve.
Why no adblock

I usually dont have a website fail on me. But if it does I usually have chrome as back up and theres never been a problem with a FF/chrome combo.

I'm checking my web server access logs and I'm seeing about 40% Chrome, 30% Firefox, 10% IE, 20% other/bots

i have IE9 on a super clean install of W7 on my toughbook and I must say, it's quite nice. But for my main machines I can't let go of Chrome. I like synced browsing between all of my devices thumb.gif
