Any affordable gaming-capable IPS monitors?

Thread Starter
I broke my Asus VW246H monitor which has served me well, so I'm looking to pick up another one. Reactivity and response time are important to me for gaming, but I also do a lot of photo editing now and I'm considering an IPS for the better color.

In the past, IPS reactivity and response time were noticibly behind TN panels and that would have a negative effect on gaming. Has that changed any in the last few years? Are there any 22-24" IPS panels that have the good color/light consistency/etc of IPS monitors but are reactive enough for gaming?

Ideally under $250, if possible.

If you can spend few more bucks, there are no monitors like the Korean Displays.

It would suite your needs but again you need to spend like $350

IPS has gotten much better but it is no way as responsive as say a 120hz TN display.

There are a few very good IPS monitors that stand up to gaming:

Asus VG23AH - do a search for it on this forum. MenacingTuba did a good write up on it and it runs at 72hz.
Dell UltraSharp U2312HM - Very low input lag and good pixel response, input lag is something like 0.6ms.

Seems the sweet spot for gaming IPS panels is in the 23" range.
