Which Steelseries sensei should I buy?

At the moment I'm searching for a steelseries sensei mouse around $70 with good build quality, I had a kana, but my brother has taken it.
So far, I've decided on the sensei but am not sure of which one I should get, if it is possible could you guys also give me links to sites in the US, preferably in NY selling for around this price range or lower.
Thanks.

You can pick up a RAW from Amazon for less than your budget. Best Buy carries the regular for around the same price as Amazon after tax+shipping depending on where you live, although it clocks in at about $10 more than what you want to spend.

Just depends on what finish you'd like and features. The RAW versions are more stripped down and use a different firmware, but should perform close from what I've read similar. I know Skylit commented on some changes to the regular version's firmware that might have not carried over to the RAW.

Should I also consider the razer taipan?

Definately get the sensai raw. I have tried all of them for a longer period of time and the sensei raw perform exactly the same as the normal sensei and the sensei mlg

There are some minor differences though.

The sensei mlg have the best switches, the best teflon feet, the best cord and a sensor with up to 8200/16400dpi. The normal sensei have a better cord than the sensei raw also

Both the normal sensei and sensel mlg have metallic coating, options to change led colour, small lcd screen on the buttom where you can change all settings, and more onboard profiles.

So except from some minor differences, the build quality is the same, and the sensor performs just as good. So with the added bonus of having a lower weight on the sensei raw, its an easy choice

thanks for the advice, I'll probably get the rubberized raw then. +rep

Switches are more or less the same standard D2FC. Different batch if you're comparing them directly to another model. Sensei RAW has a modified shell design (comes from a diff factory). Travel distance/feel is quite different from the Vanilla or MLG versions.

Apart from the Sensor, switches, and basic shell design, the RAW is completely different mouse and I don't think it's fair to compare them directly as the same ^^

PS: I personally felt the RAW was a little worse than the vanilla version in terms of tracking (release firmware), but I don't have both mice readily available to test this on current versions.

Hardware wise, I feel the RAW offers decent value compared to their other mice @ "MSRP"

What other mouse would you recommend for my budget other than the sensei?

For less than your budget you can get a G400 which seems to be the best mouse arround with a palmgrip shape. The Roccat Savu and the CMStorm Recon also are very popular.
Sensei can offer sexy features but you won't be needing even half of those, keep it simple.

I ended up getting a savu, it was pretty cheap and seemed pretty good, also, bestbuy ran out of stock for the raw.
