backing off from MSI 670 PE, need new suggestion for a GPU

hi guys,

in the wake of the news regarding the MSI 670 PE card, I was gonna buy that next week, set my mind on that, but because of this news I was scared and have second thoughts on it, so i need a new suggestion of a card that can maximize on a 1920x1080 resolution with BF3, Crysis 2 that kind of games.. I might overclock some in the feature if i dont get good FPS on my games.. my budget is around $400 to $420, it wont matter if it is NVIDIA or AMD as long as it do justice for it.. thanks a lot..

Here's a pretty good candidate for you, it OC's as good as the TOP version but doesn't suffer from the early issues the TOP has.

Another good one would be:

From reviews I've read the Asus is more quiet while the Gigabyte is a little bit cooler. Both will max all games at 1920x1080 and should make you happy.

how about in the AMD side? 7950? or 7970? Sapphire seems cheap, can you recommend that?

I would say the HD 7950 is the better buy. HD 7950 is 3 - 5% slower than HD 7970 at the same clocks. i would advise you to save the 80 - 90 bucks and go for voltage overclocking. These cards can easily hit 1.15 Ghz and at those speeds are faster than HD 7970 Ghz.

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Sapphire/HD_7950_Vapor-X/31.html

here is a HD 7950 (1.2 Ghz) easily ahead of GTX 670 (1.3 Ghz)

Get the Gigabyte HD 7950 OC or Sapphire HD 7950 Boost . both cards come with sleeping dogs game. have been playing the game. one of the best games I have played in recent times.

I'd have to agree that price wise the 7950 is the better buy! The sapphire model @raghu78 chose is very good!

hi GPR....7950 is already available out there...i have a friend over there in iligan and the store that wer they by there stuff is laways updated with tha latest gaming parts(also hd 7950)

for me if your choice is still GTX 670...i would go to EVGA gtx 670-solid and good brand...

or if your goin to agree with the HD 7950(and i know 7950 can beat the GTX 680 when OC) the very good brand for it is XFX HD 7950......
