You are willing to spend $150 on a sound card if its 'truly worth it', but trust me, with your current Corsair headset, there will be no discernible difference. Put your funds towards new headphones. With that much money you could get some nice Audio Technica's, or even some Beyerdynamics DT770's. That would make a much bigger difference than buying a better source for 'low' quality headphones.
